The first rumor that caught my attention was that of the Nintendo Switch.
Personally I thought it was too good to be true until the Nintendo Switch came out.
I was shocked to see that the console wasn’t much different than what leaks at the time predicted.

Spoiler Alert: its official announcement is expected from March 2025 according to analysts.
Nintendo Switch 2 Leak: rumors, specs and release date
The Nintendo Switch, which launched in 2017, is set to pass the torch to a new generation of consoles. As rumors surrounding the Nintendo Switch 2 intensify, we take stock of what we know, from credible speculation to official announcements.

An imminent announcement for the Nintendo Switch 2?
According to analysts, Nintendo is expected to announce the Switch 2 before March 2025, a date confirmed by the company in a financial report. While some are betting on a release as early as March or April 2025, others believe the launch could happen later in the year.
Clues such as increased production spending by Hosiden, a key Nintendo subcontractor, support the hypothesis of an imminent launch.
An evolution of the Nintendo Switch or a new concept?
Nintendo is known for its taste for innovation, but this time, everything seems to indicate a more classic approach. The Switch 2 would take up the hybrid concept of its predecessor, with notable hardware improvements:
- An 8-inch screen, possibly Mini-LED, for better visual quality.
- Revamped Joy-Con controllers, incorporating a mysterious optical sensor, evoking a use similar to that of a mouse.
- Backward compatibility with the Switch game library, confirmed by Nintendo.
Promising technical specifications
Rumors point to an eight-core NVIDIA Tegra239 processor, supported by 8 to 12 GB of RAM. On the graphics side, the console would benefit from NVIDIA’s DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) technology, offering 4K resolution in docked mode and 1080p in portable mode.
These features would ensure increased performance while remaining accessible to a wide audience.
How much will the Switch 2 cost?
While pricing remains unknown, speculation has it that it will cost €400, marking an increase over Nintendo’s previous consoles. This price would put it in the same range as the Steam Deck or the Xbox Series S/X consoles.
What games to accompany the release of the Switch 2?
Nintendo is remaining tight-lipped about launch games, but several hypotheses are circulating:
- A new Mario Kart, after the phenomenal success of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe .
- An all-new Mario adventure in 3D, ideal for promoting the console’s capabilities.
- The highly anticipated Metroid Prime 4 , potentially launching alongside the Switch 2.
Towards a new video game revolution?
The Nintendo Switch 2, while still shrouded in mystery, looks promising. With major technical improvements and retaining its hybrid concept, it could continue the success of the original Switch.
