Wrap it carefully with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid any tangle; lock him up safe / secure in the coffin of your selfishness. But in this coffin, your heart will change.
Safe, in the dark, motionless, starved of air - your heart will become impenetrable, irreparable. The only place outside the heavens where you can be perfectly safe from all the dangers and risks of love ... is hell.
We will come closer to God, not by trying to avoid the sufferings inherent and proper to love, but by accepting them and giving them to Him; throwing any defensive armor.
If our hearts need to be broken, and if He chooses that as the way in which they are to be broken, then His will be done. "
